My name is Chris Trott, I am a Bermudian filmmaker with a deep passion for storytelling through visual art. For me, filmmaking is more than simply capturing images; it is about creating an experience, preserving a feeling, and giving stories a visual language that allows them to connect with people in meaningful ways.

I have always been drawn to the power of visual storytelling and the way a carefully composed frame, a moment of natural emotion, or the right combination of light, sound, and movement can transform an ordinary experience into something memorable. Filmmaking has become the way I express that passion — a creative space where I can bring ideas, experiences, people, and places to life.

Being from Bermuda has had a major influence on the way I see the world and approach my work. There is something incredibly special about being surrounded by the colours, landscapes, history, people, and culture of these islands. From our crystal-clear waters and dramatic coastlines to our architecture, traditions, communities, and everyday moments, Bermuda offers an endless source of inspiration. I see filmmaking as an opportunity not only to showcase the natural beauty of the island, but also to capture the character and stories that make Bermuda uniquely Bermudian.

I am especially interested in the human side of filmmaking — the stories behind the people, the experiences that shape us, and the moments that might otherwise go unnoticed. Whether I am working on a personal project, documenting an experience, creating content for a client, or simply capturing the beauty of a moment, I strive to approach each project with intention, creativity, and authenticity.

I am also passionate about continuing to grow as a filmmaker. I believe that filmmaking is a constantly evolving art form, and there is always something new to learn, explore, and refine. I enjoy experimenting with different visual styles, techniques, perspectives, and approaches to storytelling, while continuing to develop my skills behind the camera and in the creative process.

Collaboration is an important part of that journey. I am always looking for opportunities to connect and create with other cinematographers, videographers, photographers, creatives, and storytellers. Working alongside other artists allows me to learn from different perspectives, challenge my own creative thinking, and discover new ways of approaching the craft. I believe some of the most meaningful work can come from bringing different creative minds together with a shared passion for storytelling.

Ultimately, my goal is to create films and visual experiences that make people feel something — whether that is inspiration, nostalgia, connection, excitement, curiosity, or simply a deeper appreciation for a person, place, or moment.

As a Bermudian filmmaker, I feel fortunate to have such a remarkable place as both my home and my creative backdrop. Through my work, I hope to continue exploring Bermuda, telling its stories, celebrating its people and culture, and sharing the beauty of these islands from my own perspective.

This is more than a profession for me. It is a creative journey — one that allows me to connect with people, experience new perspectives, continually develop my craft, and tell stories that deserve to be seen.
